Mediazione, sicurezza, transizione energetica: casi studio a confronto

Join us on Thursday, October 17th, at 5:30 PM at the Accademia delle Scienze in Turin for “Mediazione, sicurezza, transizione energetica: casi studio a confronto” hosted by the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo in collaboration with the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), ECCO Think Tank, and the Agency for Peacebuilding (AP).

During the event, three projects selected through the “Geopolitics and Technology” program by the Fondazione San Paolo will be presented.

They focus on key issues at the intersection of technology and global policy:

  • “Building a transatlantic technology bridge: challenges and opportunities”
    Presented by: Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI)
    This project delves into the challenges and opportunities of fostering transatlantic technological cooperation
  • “Tecnologia e transizione energetica: quale ruolo per l’Europa e per l’Italia?”
    Presented by: ECCO, the Italian Climate Think Tank
    Analyzes the geopolitical dimensions of technological developments tied to energy transition needs, focusing on Europe and Italy
  • “Tecnologie digitali per la pace e la mediazione”
    Presented by: Agency for Peacebuilding (AP)
    Explores the potential of digital technologies to facilitate mediation and peacebuilding processes

Opening remarks will be delivered by Marco Gilli, President of the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, followed by Nicolò Russo Perez, Head of the “Shaping International Scenarios” initiative.
The panel discussion will be moderated by Flavia Giacobbe, Director of Formiche and Airpress, with a focus on global geopolitical and technological challenges, while emphasizing the importance of human capital as a driving force for innovation.

Launched in 2022, the “Geopolitics and Technology” initiative aims to deepen understanding of how emerging technologies are reshaping international relations, with an emphasis on the digital revolution. 

The goal is to engage both the public and policymakers in considering the strategic impact of these changes on the global stage.
